Talking about getting out of the dollar...
CIC put only $6 billion into the US securities. If you read elsewhere that a rounded up $10 billion is in the US markets, do not believe it - not that that number is any better. $10 billion out of $300 billion invested in the biggest economy of the world is still disproportionately small implying a lot of things. The biggest holding reported was Teck Resources LTD. which happens to be a Canadian company interlisted on the US exchanges. On top of that some of the ADRs are listed as if they were US companies. That is why people without reading the fine line or in an effort to pump up the dismal number are reporting $10 billion.
Other things to note is that some of the top holdings include gold and gold companies along with other commodity and materials companies, a true sign of investing in tangible assets and away from the dollar and paper assets. All of these combined is a very strong message and the opposite of a vote of confidence for the dollar by an economy that is poised to become the world's second biggest economy soon.
